My Serenity DVD arrived today, it was really good im glad i bought it now.

I bought it, not knowing anything about the series FireFly or much about the plot, of the film. Its a really good film and ill be trying to get my friends to watch it, which will be a miracle becasue when i mentioned the world 'sci-fi'  i got this odd look, some people just can't appreciate er…a good genre!

Desperate Housewives Game

The television series Desperate Housewives is being made into a game. It will let players take on the role of a new housewife in Wistera Lane. You can read more here at bbc.co.uk.

When i saw this i laughed out loud, as personally i think this game will flop big time.

And this would look good with my i-pod nano, an i-pod nano stand but i don't really need it.

Apple News

1)Apple are planning to open two more stores in the UK in Manchester and Southampton, good for them. i still havent been to my local one and that's only about half an hour away from me in the car!

2) Apple are releasing volume control for their I-pods, following concerns about hearing loss. You can read the article on bbc.co.uk here.

3)Apple vs Apple Corps. The Beatles record label Apple Corps has accused Apple Computers of breaking the terms of their agreement that they will not step over into the music industry (I-tunes and  I-pod!). A Big court battle commences. You can read more on the bbc.co.uk website here.

The Streaking Game

Tyler on the Desginers Block Forum, found this game its so much fun. Basically your streak and you have to streak for cash. A lot of fun. http://www.thestreakinggame.com.

And this is class…the future of Google:

Its true…once you’ve got something good milk it!

Oceans 13 is going ahead! You can read more here at bbc.co.uk.
With Geoge Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, but no Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta Jones (thank goodness for the latter). And Stenven Soderbergh is back as director.

The other day I saw the original Oceans 11 with Frank Sinatra and the other Rat Pack people, and it was good but a crappy ending.

Are there no good people left in this world?

Currently it is absoluelty chucking down the hailstones in London, im sick of this cold weather, i need some heat. Enough about the British weather…

Are there no good citizens left in this world?

Yes….there are, I thought there were none. Let me tell you why.
Where I live it is illegal now to not recycle which is great and all. So we all have these recycle boxes that we put outside and the recycle men come and collect them once a week. Now I understand that these men are on a tight deadline, but do they really have to throw the boxes. This is what i saw: one of the recycle men actually threw the box back next to the house it belonged to and then did that with all the rest of the houses, he actually threw them like he was doing shot put or something! So down the whole street there were boxes scattered all over the place.
All the residents the lazy gits couldn't themselves be bothered to pick them up, then I see this man, he doesnt live down this road, becasue ive never seen him before but hes just minding his own business, he looked like he was carrying some heacy shopping as well. He put his shopping down and then started to put all the boxes back to their designated houses. Then just simply walked off, back on his way.
I couldn't believe it, i wanted to go up to him and say, hey mate thanks for that, why can't there be more people like you? Some people down where i live all they think about is themselves, i think really, we all need to be a bit nicer though, just saying please and thank you would go so far! (The little brats at my sisters school don't even know what the words please and thank you mean!!)

A-Level Certificates

We got our AS Level certifcate today about time. I was surprised at the amount of A's where on there (sadly they werent all A's ), especailly since i really can't be bothered with A-Levels anymore! Only 3 months left and my friends are organising out leaving party, they are actually making me go, i really havent got the energy to be bothered with it. But they threatend me with showing up at my house and literally dragging me there, so I will probabaly end up going.

Damn R Button

The R Button on my Laptop has decided not to work so if there are words on here that appear to have a letter missing, it is probably an R. Though it seems to be woking when you pess it had enough!

Well im off to watch the house of Dracula, should be good, but you know sequels…

Nosfeartu aka Dracula

So for my Synoptic paper in June, for my Media Studies course i will
be writing about Science Fiction and Horror. So my media teacher gave
me Nosferatu, Dracula and the House of Dracula
to borrow on DVD. Now im not really into horror and things like that
apart from a few exceptions adn i really was not looking forward to
watching filmd that were made in the 1920’s and 30’s, but i was
pleasntly surprised.

Nosferatu

This is a silent
movie made in Germany in 1922 by F W Murnau. Bascially Nosferatu
is Dracula, but Bram Stokers widow (the author of te dracula book) did
not grant Murnau the rights to Dracula, so what he did was use the
exact same story and ingeniously chaning the names.

The
film is an hour and a half in length and most defiently worth a watch.
At first i was a little put off by the grainy black and white footage
(nowadays were used to better HDTV and all!), but really this just made
the film more of a pleasure to watch. Obviously around this time film
was still rather like theatre, the actors in this film have to know how
to act as the story is bought across in their facial expressions and
actions. Sometimes they are somewhat over exaggerated, but this just
adds to the intensity of the film, for the hour and a half i was
sitting there watching it i was gripped.

Nowadays in horror
films we get all the special effects done with CGI (Computer Generated
Images) or prosthetics and lots of fake blood and it does look good,
but it just doesn’t compare with the old ways. I don’t even remember
even seeing a little bit of blood in this vampire film. The way fades
and wipes are used in the film are truly brilliant, i even found myself
asking how did they do that back then, without a program like Final Cut
Express or IMovie doing it all for you?

The film is rated a PG
(Parental Guidance), I don’t think they would have been able to cope
back then with films like Saw, Blade or 28 Days Later, and my little
sister (who is 8) was freaking out, the music and the tension in the
film just add to the suspense of it all. For something so simple it
works brilliantly.

Dracula

This film is not a silent
movie, thank goodness, though I enjoyed Nosferatu, I do need to hear
things. Anyway this film was also quality, Bela Lagosi, who plays
Dracula in this movie is pure class, i can see why people still see him
today as ‘the’ Dracula. The guy was just plain scary.

Again
in this film you didn’t see any blood and the bats were obviously
puppets with strings. When I saw them i did laugh out loud! But
the story is a good one and it was bought across well in the film.
Personally I think the editing is a bit dodgy as it jumps from scene to
scene, but we can forgive and forget as it doesn’t detract too much
from the film.

But I really did enjoy this film and i would most definetly recommend them to people, Horror has found a new fan!

Here are some poster images of the films Nosferatu and Dracula:

Cheeky Sod

I just found out my brother has been nicking my CDs, DVDs etc for
ages, he doesn't put them back and i just found a whole bunch of them
out of their cases, with a number of scratches on them i might add.

I cannot stand this, it drives me up the wall since i never take any
of his stuff. He also takes things without asking. Right now i just
want to punch him one.

It is taking all my will power to not deck him one right now.

I also have a suspicion that he has been giving out my CDs and DVDs
to his friends claiming they are his, these are the ones i havent been
able to find yet, as i think they are sitting in his friends houses. If
I do find out its him i really will kill him.

My Health

And i finally got a doctors appointment so I can find out why im so
tired all the time, but its in two weeks, i was fortunate i even got
this appointment as my doctor is all booked up till April the 20th!
